Today we were taught about the role of assessment in learning. It’s not just about giving students a grade on their knowledge, it’s about measuring where students are at in their learning, where they need to go and how best to get there. All good topic plans start with a measurable outcome that students will have and if we cannot or do not measure it, we have no idea of our effectiveness as teachers.
